The Flaw: Who is Really the Captive?

Someone asked me why I wrote the Flaw, I said: “They’re war zones at our damn malls, churches, and colleges. I don’t know whether there’s a virus, mental health issue or just whack-jobs getting a gun. I only know there’s something up, and I’m not the only one who thinks that I’ve had top virologists and behavior experts, agree.”

So, I guess there’s got to be something about my theory. In particular, since my contact at the CDC was found floating face down the Atlanta River two weeks after he informed me. That someone in the Pentagon may have ordered the release of such a virus. They consider it a form of Population Control.

Here’s an excerpt from the flaw, hope you enjoy it.

“What the hell do you mean it got out, Lucas?”

The L train grew still, as the ordinarily boisterous New Yorkers lent their ears.

“They said they were never going to use it, how was I supposed to know.”

“Who, who said they would never use it?”

“The people at the Pentagon, I made it for. They came to the farm one day, and said if I help them, they will wipe away my father’s tax debt.”

“What exactly did you make, for them, Lucas?”

“A bug.”

“What type of bug?”

However, by the look on Lucas’s face, Noah knew it wasn’t a common cold.

“It doesn’t have a failsafe, Noah; I don’t think I can stop it.”
